Welcome to the March 2024 edition of The Presidency, where we spotlight President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s impactful leadership and his unwavering commitment to Uganda’s development and prosperity.

In this edition, we explore President Museveni’s wealth-creation message, of transforming lives across Uganda. His focus on inclusive economic participation and sustainable agricultural practices underscores his dedication to ensuring every Ugandan can thrive economically.

President Museveni encourages the people of Dokolo District to support the National Resistance Movement (NRM), praising the party’s achievements in addressing past challenges and building crucial infrastructure like schools and roads.

We highlight President Museveni’s recent recognition of civilian bravery, awarding the Nalubaale Medal to Mr. Abdul Katabaazi. This acknowledgement reflects the President’s appreciation for individuals who contribute to Uganda’s security and safety.

The President also launched Uganda’s first-ever Islamic banking institution, Salaam Bank, during the Ramathan dua prayers. He discussed Islamic banking’s principles of profit-sharing rather than interest, which align with Sharia compliance.

We examine President Museveni’s dedication to women’s empowerment as he challenges women leaders to advocate for wealth creation and economic opportunities for all. His support for the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) project exemplifies his vision for equitable and inclusive economic progress.

President Museveni emphasised the importance of fighting corruption and mobilising the masses for wealth creation during the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed ministers. He highlighted the potential of sectors such as commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services, and ICT in helping Ugandans create wealth.

During an Iftar dinner at State House-Entebbe, President Museveni commended religious groups for promoting work and wealth creation among their followers. He also discussed inheritance issues and promised to resolve concerns related to interest rates in the Parish Development Model (PDM) to align with Islamic teachings.

In international relations, we feature President Museveni’s reception of credentials from five newly accredited ambassadors to Uganda. This event demonstrates his commitment to fostering strong diplomatic ties and cooperation with countries worldwide.

At the 3rd Uganda-European Union Business Forum, President Museveni urged European companies to invest in Uganda, advocating for dialogue and collaboration to benefit both parties. His insights into boosting trade and investment provide a clear path toward mutual growth and prosperity.

As we reflect on these stories, it becomes evident that President Museveni’s leadership is guided by a clear vision for national prosperity, rooted in principles of inclusivity, sustainability, and economic empowerment.
