The Tilenga Project, operated by TotalEnergies, CNOOC, and UNOC, has successfully relocated the final project affected person (PAP) under Resettlement Action Plan 2.
This marks a significant milestone in the land acquisition process for oil and gas activities, with 99% of the 5,900 PAPs compensated and relocated since 2017.
The final PAP received compensation exceeding the value of their assets, a 30% disturbance allowance, a 30% uplift, and a modern replacement house.
The project prioritises fair and transparent land acquisition practices and minimises disruption to affected communities.
The Tilenga Project in Uganda aims to unlock energy potential and contribute to economic growth by constructing infrastructure for oil extraction, processing, and transportation.
