A key highlight is the President’s participation in the grand opening of the new All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero, Kampala. In his address, he urged the Christian community to live by example, emphasising that faith should be demonstrated through actions, not just words.
This edition also covers President Museveni’s ongoing tour to assess the impact of the Parish Development Model (PDM), a government initiative aimed at lifting Ugandans out of poverty. During his visit to Kibuku District, he was inspired by Florence Nabutono, a local entrepreneur, whose success story embodies the potential for transformation. He encouraged Ugandans to embrace entrepreneurship, stressing that the country’s abundant resources provide opportunities for everyone to escape poverty.
The tour continued in the Bukedi sub-region, where the President met Mr. Kirya, a successful farmer who has integrated modern farming practices, including fish farming and poultry, on just five acres of land. His success serves as an example for other farmers to adopt similar methods for sustainable wealth creation.
Throughout the tour, President Museveni emphasised the importance of grassroots accountability, urging local leaders to ensure that government resources are used effectively. He also called for increased media coverage of PDM successes to inspire other communities.
This edition reaffirms the President’s commitment to the PDM and his vision for Uganda’s transition from subsistence farming to a broader money economy. The government’s ongoing support aims to empower citizens and foster economic independence.
