Summary: The commissioning of the UGX. 6.3 trillion 600 MW Karuma Hydro Power Project is expected to reduce the cost of electricity, which will in turn lower the cost of production of goods and services in Uganda. President Yoweri Museveni yesterday commissioned the project that will bring the total power generation capacity in Uganda to 2,200MW from 380MW in 2005.
