Beware of pension scams, retiring soldiers warned

Must Read

23 September 2024 – Non-commissioned officers who are about to retire have been warned to be cautious and vigilant against individuals attempting to deceive them and take their pension and gratuity by enticing them to participate in various projects.

This warning comes as the soldiers are set to retire at the end of this month.

Lt. Col. Onesmus Amanya, the Deputy Director in charge of Pensions, issued this warning during the ongoing documentation and awareness campaign for non-commissioned officers from the Air Force, Special Forces Command, Jinja, and Magamaga Cantonment in Gadaffi Barracks, Jinja.

He encouraged the retirees to provide mutual support, especially during challenging times such as funeral expenses, and to foster a sense of camaraderie and mutual assistance to help each other progress.

Lt. Col. Amanya also assured the retirees that the payment process has been improved to ensure timely and hassle-free disbursements without unnecessary intermediaries.
